About Lucille M. Shaw, MBA
Founder and Fiduciary Advisor | Finances for Life, LLC
I'm Lucille M. Shaw, Founder and Fiduciary Advisor of Finances for Life, LLC, an independent Registered Investment Adviser. For more than 25 years, I've helped medical professionals, entrepreneurs, retirees, and individuals navigate important financial, retirement, estate, and legacy planning decisions.

My work focuses on stewardship. I help clients protect what they've built, prepare for life's changes, and make financial decisions that reflect their goals, health, family, and long-term values.
Why I Started Finances for Life
My professional career began in healthcare as a board-certified Medical Technologist (ASCP), where accuracy, evidence, and trust were essential. Decisions had real consequences, and precision mattered.

That mindset continues to influence how I approach financial planning today. Like good medicine, effective planning is preventive, personalized, and grounded in understanding rather than urgency.

I founded Finances for Life in 2005 after seeing accomplished professionals struggle with financial complexity while balancing demanding careers and family responsibilities. They didn't need more confusion. They needed clarity, thoughtful guidance, and an advisor who would put their interests first.

As the founder of a woman-owned, independent advisory firm, I believe financial advice should be transparent, understandable, and grounded in each client's unique circumstances.

How I Work with Clients
As a fiduciary advisor, my responsibility is to act in my clients' best interests when providing investment advice.
My approach is built around four guiding principles:
I believe financial advice works best when you understand your options and feel confident making decisions. My role is to provide professional perspective and guidance while keeping you actively involved in the process.
-
Clarity – Helping you understand complex financial decisions.
-
Focus – Identifying what matters most to you.
-
Advocacy – Keeping your interests at the center of the advice.
-
Direction – Helping you determine what to do next as life and circumstances change.
Beyond the Office
Outside of advisory work, I value balance, health, and long-term well-being. I enjoy long walks, running half marathons, gardening, cooking pescatarian meals, and spending quiet time with loved ones.

These interests reflect something I believe deeply: financial well-being is about more than money. It's about creating the freedom and confidence to live a meaningful life.
What Comes Next
